In 2023, a remarkable chapter in technology history was honored. The Emmy Awards recognized LANcity (CommScope), Broadcom, General Instrument (CommScope), and 3Com (HP) for their “Pioneering Technologies Enabling High-Performance Communications Over Cable TV Systems.”
At the heart of this achievement stood Rouzbeh Yassini, the visionary founder and CEO of LANcity, who received a special Emmy for inventing the cable modem and for his seminal role in shaping and developing DOCSIS—the global standard that revolutionized broadband connectivity.
